The Pongching Students Union Library was founded and constructed in the year 1998 through community funding sponsored jointly by the village council and Pongching Students Union. For almost Twenty years our Pongching Students Union Library building has been a basic wooden structure and with the passage of time, it is in a very dilapidated state. As such efficient functioning has been hindered, giving rise to a very urgent need for construction of a new building. As we have been functioning our student’s library for the last 27 years, but during this entire period no major repairs have been carried out. The library ceiling is leaking during monsoon and the pillars are not stable anymore. There are cracks on the roof top and the staircase is also in very poor shape. The wall on the outer side has many cracks which is beyond repairable. There is an urgent need of construction of new Library Building.
