Project Details
Effective water catchment treatment measures encompassing all the feasible biological and engineering measures needs to be adopted for achieving sustainability. Creation of community conservation forestry in the abandoned and unattended lands could improve vegetative cover and reduce direct impact of raindrops causing soil erosion and surface runoff. Surplus rain water that is escaping from the catchment areas into rivers and streams can be controlled by creating an embankment such as gully plugs and check dams so that water will walk and not run.
1.Enhance water availability and quality 2. Safe water supply for agaricultural, industrial and domestic uses 3. Efficient development and management of new water resources 4. Less water loss and more water avenues 5. Rejuvenation of environment and recharge of ground water
