Project Details
Scarcity of drinking water sources in remote areas of Nagaland during 1ean periods coupled with scanty and erratic rainfall in recent times has prompted the department to formulate intensive technical approach for augmentation of basic drinking water in target areas. The department has so far constructed 270 nos. of tube wells covering all districts of Nagaland. Besides generation of sub-surface data for long term planning & management of groundwater resources, it will mitigate the scarcity of water at various economic, developmental, domestic, industrial, emergency services as well as disaster management sectors.

Proposed Activities
1.To scout for assured groundwater resources and to mitigate scarcity of water for domestic sector in remote areas of Nagaland 2. To enhance and expand ongoing work programs of the Department, concentrating in the remote areas 3.To achieve desired depth of potential aquifers 4. To assess and monitor both qualitative and quantitative aspects of groundwater resources in the targeted areas thereby providing domestic drinking water.
