With rapid urbanization of the Chumukedima district which as per Govt data has increased five fold in the last two decades and is the third largest agglomeration in Nagaland after Dimapur and Kohima. This project is proposed with the identification of the basic principle that, open spaces are essential for living effectively as science now emphasize the critical necessity of green areas within the urban social ecological systems Open spaces are critical to urban living which is a necessity and not a luxury. Due to urbanization trends the distance between city inhabitants and nature is increasing. Urban greenery is one way to bridge this gap between people and nature. Due importance are given to other development activities and open spaces are neglected but urban greenery caters to the natural, recreational and cultural needs that are intangible parts of humanity.
