Since there is no public records act of rules in Nagaland, though scholars and historians have long realised the importance of archival records, most of the administrators are ignorant about the importance of the records which in future will be our historical heritage.Thus, there is urgent need for public records collection and bring them to archives before they are gone forever.The project will make aware of 1. The value of historical records in promoting administrative efficiency and economy of the state 2. The role of Archives on Records, as a primary source in providing the demographic, economic, social and political information for planmning and development and a means of developing the culture and identity of the state 3. The role of Administrator on Recorda management.
