The project envisages setting up of Startup Project on Banana Fibre & Crafts for Creation of Sustainable Livelihood Opportunity in Nagaland one each in all the 16 districts for production of fibre, processing, craft making activities etc. Nagaland is endowed with rich and unique natural resources which provide immense potential for socio-economic development of the society. With vast and varied resources, setting up of Startup Project on Banana Fibre & Crafts for Creation of Sustainable Livelihood Opportunity will play an integral part which has tremendous potential of becoming a major contributor towards the improvement of State’s economy by providing livelihood and employment to the local populace.

1. Skill development training for extraction of fibre from banana leaves, stems, standardixe processes and prepare/craft value added home furnishings 2. To provide facilities with improved and modern machineries, tools and equipments for creation of new products, design intervention 3. To deveelop and enhance marketability of banana stems/leaves based products 4. Transforming the waste into a usable fabric and other products 5. To facilitate opportunities for employment generation of local unemployed youths.
