Project Details
Nagaland is the State of village where the economy depends on agriculture as the main source of livelihood. It has been noted that 90% of the total population of State is engaged in agricultural sector. The major agricultural crops in Nagaland are rice, corm, millets, pulses, oilseeds, sugarcane, potatoes, banana, pineapple, orange, litch1, ginger, yam, cucumber and areca nut. Rice is the dominant corps and also stable diet of the people. However, Nagaland has a total area of 16,579 Sq.km where the land available for cultivation of Net Area sown data was reported at 384.000 hectare in 2019. This records a decrease from the previous number of 385.000 hectare in 2018. The major land use pattern is slashed and burn cultivation locally known as Jhum. Area under Jhum cultivation is about 1,01,400 hectare and under terrace cultivation.

1.To understand the concept of the programme and also enable them to explain about the need of skill development in sustaining self sufficiency 2. To describe about the livelihood option and utilization of available resources which can be transformed into produce for sustainable livelihood 3. To explore and choose the option and to access the financial institution like banking, credit subsidy schemes of the government and other sources including to raise its own source of revenue to contribute towards social and economic well being of an individual and society
