Project Details
Vegetable cultivation in Nagaland is confined to small scale kitchen gardens for home consumption. Most of the vegetables found in the markets in towns are imported from neighboring states. There is a huge potential to promote high value vegetables like lettuce, capsicum, zucchini and other leafy vegetables under low cost polyhouse. Also, off season cultivation under polyhouse can also fetch better price in the market. Progressive farmers willing to take up agriculture enterprises will be promoted in the 4 districts of Nagaland. They will be provided with technical support on cultivation practices, assisted with inputs and hand holding support to take up their business.
