Niuland District has only 1 CHC with only 1 Ambulance in a dilapidated condition and there is dire need of ambulances to cover far flung areas. There have been cases where patients succumbed before reaching the hospitals due to lack of sufficient ambulance services. The district is one of newest district covering more than 100 villages and a population of 25109 as per 2011 census and hence emergency medical services with state of the art facilities is desperately the need of the hour.
