Project Details
The project is for installation of solar street lights on the unelectrified roads at Longleng town and widening of Traffic point. The lack of electrified roads is an impediment for the development of the district, creation of local livelihoods and safety of the population. The lack of proper roads lightning within the town is causing challenges to the community to access during night time. With narrow roads connectivity within town, the situation is further aggravated by problems of road design and maintenance. The problems of traffic congestion harms the wider community causing energy inefficiencies and pollution, contributes to bad health, waste time and opportunity of the community.Solar street lights are independent of the utility grid resulting to lessened operation costs and also enhanced safety for villagers during late evenings and night, extending business hours which will lead to socio-economic development of the area. It will also improve and provide safe access to the healthcare centers, schools and reduces the load on the conventional power systems and lead to saving of precious fossil fuels, ensuring better illumination in the village streets..
