Tseminyu, until recently under Kohima district, was created as a separate district on December 20, 2021. As of date, Tseminyu has no hospital, government or private. With only 3 functional health centres and 10 sub-centres, these centres cater to the healthcare services of the different villages and areas, including Tseminyu town, spread across the length and breadth of the district. Being a hilly region with practically kaccha (unmetalled) or little developed roads connecting most of the rural areas, road travel by vehicles to access the health centres is not only challenging but practically restrictive owing to the requirement of off-road vehicles with good ground clearance. The Tseminyu health centres do not have any ambulance with off-road capabilities and which can seamlessly travel to different localities and villages of the district or which can enable transport access to patients needing medical attention in the health centres / hospitals beyond the district. To compound the issue, there are currently no funds available from any source to provision the same. Hence, the paramount need of CSR funded project to address this gap.
