Enhancing students Learning Environment by strengthening Tseminyu GHSS building
Department
District Administration
Project Details
The Government Higher Secondary School is the only government higher secondary school in the district. It was established in 1961. The school building is of wooden make. With hardly any major maintenance work done, the condition of the classrooms and school building over the years has become dilapidated. Insufficient rooms, broken and rickety classroom floor, walls, windows and ceiling and lack of other basic amenities like water and proper toilets for both teaching faculty and girl students have tended to hamper teaching-learning environment. The physical surroundings, it goes without saying, have a direct bearing on the psychological, emotional and cognitive processes and behavioural outcome of the learner. A reasonably decent pedagogic physical space, inter alia, is essential to leveraging optimum learning outcomes. Unfortunately, funds have not been forthcoming to strengthen the school building and arrest the decline, given the acute resource crunch of the state. With practically no alternative solution available to remedy the problem, active intervention through CSR funding becomes the key to strengthening and resolving the aforesaid infrastructural gap.
