Project Details
With higher secondary schools and other relatively upscale schools of Tseminyu district located in Tseminyu town, the town has become an educational hub for many students of the rural areas of the district and even for students of adjoining districts. However, neither the town nor the existing schools have any hostels to accommodate non-resident students. In consequence, such students commute over long distance to attend school or put up in rent houses in town. Coupled with this are those sections of financially disadvantaged students who are unable to afford rental houses in town area for their studies. With Tseminyu recently upgraded to a district, educational sector is poised for further investment and growth. The coming up of community hostels in Tseminyu town to cater to the accommodation needs of girl and boy students from the villages, especially those from BPL families and orphaned background will be hugely beneficial not only for the targeted student community in terms of addressing the issues of accommodation, commutation and finance but it could positively impact the overall economy and other sectoral activities of the district. Despite being a growing demand and necessity, construction of such hostels is handicapped by the unavailability of funds. In such a scenario, CSR funded intervention in the project becomes the only available option.
