Chumoukedima has abundant organic agricultural produce, however owing to the climatic conditions, the shelf life of the various crops/fruits/vegetables is significantly reduced, causing the producers to resort to use of chemicals for preservation. Vendors are unable to recover their investment due to the low shelf life. Provision of a Cold Storage Facility will encourage producers/vendors to practice sustainable organic farming
