The current state of futsal players in Chumoukedima and Nagaland in general perform below average which we can clearly see from national level performance. There are no to very little opportunity for potential players to train without equipment and infrastructure.The Futsal Club Championship, referred as Hero Futsal Club Championship, is the highest level futsal competition in India, organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The inaugural edition kicked off on 5th November 2021 in New Delhi with 16 teams. It acts as qualifier for the AFC Futsal Club Championship, the highest level club futsal competition in Asia.A club from Kohima, Telongjem FC competed in the tourney but failed to qualify for the knockout stage due to poor performance.There are budding players with talent who, given the right guidance and opportunity, should possibly play better and make a career out of the sport. Chumukedima town being one of the largest and fastest developing towns in Nagaland should have a Futsal stadium.Futsal’s fast-paced and continuous nature helps to improve a player’s spatial intelligence and ability to learn to read the game. The heavier ball increase power of players and the small space requires players to not only play quicker but also to make faster decisions. Many great football players have their roots in futsal.
