The present basketball court at Local ground, Chumoukedima town is in a highly damaged state with broken and uneven surface, no visible lines, broken backboard and hoop. It is a deterrent for many players. The court has been neglected for many years without any maintenance. Therefore, there is very little opportunity for potential players to train without equipment and infrastructure.Substantiate with secondary data/reports which can be provided by relevant govt dept.The present court is the only public basketball court.There are budding players with talent who, given the right guidance and opportunity, should possibly play better and make a career out of the sport. Chumukedima town, being one of the largest and fastest developing towns in Nagaland, should have a proper well established and maintained basketball court. Playing basketball also promotes good health, endurance, coordination, concentration and self-discipline.
