Sponsoring loan to educated entrepreneurs at Kiphire district
Department
District Administration
Project Details
The District has one of the States’ lowest literacy rates of only 69%. Skill gap report compiled for 2019-20 reflects a deeper concern as more than half of the youth populations are school dropouts who dropped out in standard ten and below. In addition, there has been new challenges faced by the district due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in terms of the number of unemployed youths returning back from Metros and mainland Indian cities who ventured out in search of jobs (both skill and unskilled). These challenges coupled with a fast growing population and unemployment need an integrated approach for skill development training to pave way for self-employment. Therefore, skill intervention is imperative to deter frustrations among such youths who have high likelihood of becoming a liability to the society as a whole. Therefore the project need special consideration to be taken up as special Project.
