Department
District Administration
Project Details
Mokokchung District is bordered by the districts of Longleng,Tuensang, Zunheboto and Wokha and is also linked to Noklak and Kiphire Districts through infrastructure routes. Out of these, Longleng and Tuensang are educationally backward as compared to other districts and thus their students often go out of their district for higher studies. Since Mokokchung is just a few hours of drive for them, it is a convenient destination for such students as compared to Kohima (the State Capital) and Dimapur (the Commercial capital) which are considerable further away. These neighbouring districts as well as the district of Mon, Noklak and Kiphire are also educationally backward and have limited facilities in their districts for higher education and thus an education hub at Mokokchung would be an attractive option for them due to the following reasons:-
• Proximity of their home districts
• Easy access to the outside
• Ease of transportation to the town
• Availability of hostel facilities with good supporting infrastructure
• The multitude of course expected to be offered in due course of time through the Education Hub
