District Administration
Project Details
• Noklak has only one Fire & Emergency Services to oversee any fire incidents which occur from time to time. In the first three months of 2022 alone, the district has reported at least four fire incidents which ravaged properties and claimed one life. • There is a lack of sufficient equipment as well as lack of public awareness in prevention of fire or any other disasters. None of the Government offices or educational institutions has fire extinguishers installed. • Usually, when fire outbreaks occur in far flung areas of the district or even at the headquarter; it is the locals who rush to the scene to douse the flames. The danger lies in the fact that they do not have protective equipments and very little knowledge on fire safety. • Another natural hazard faced by the district is the perennial landslides during monsoons, often leading to road blocks and loss of life and property. There is an urgent need to address the problem as a large portion of Noklak headquarter is affected by the gradual mudslide. This hampers infrastructural growth to a large extends..
