Livelihood generation programmes for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV)
Department
District Administration
Project Details
The district remains a hotspot for HIV/AIDS. There is also a considerable number of school dropouts who get involved in drug abuse and other illegal activities which often contribute to the rising cases.
Women remain the most vulnerable victims as they are often unaware of their partner’s HIV status. In addition, there is a certain level of stigma associated with the disease because of which PLHIV do not feel comfortable integrating with the mainstream.
