● Childline 1098 service was launched in Peren District, Nagaland in the year 2019. The main area of work is child protection in line with the value of UNICEF. Primarily dealing with missing children, abused children, runaway children, Child labor, children needing medical assistance and all kinds of children in need of care and protection.
● Since its inception childline have intervened 1847 cases on various child protection risk areas. In 2020-2021, in the wake of unprecedented covid outbreak, Childline Peren has intervened by reaching out to 1129 children in need by providing relief support covering 30 villages.
● Childline Peren, a 24- hour service, is in urgent need of a rescue vehicle for efficient service. The community based program covers the entire district delivering services and at times even beyond its jurisdiction depending on the urgency of cases. However, the factor of timely intervention in emergency cases is greatly hampered on account of non- availability of vehicle at their disposal.
