Poor infrastructure is key obstacle to development in Tuensang District with lack of proper infrastructure such as science and computer laboratory, school playground, auditorium, housing and accommodation. Providing adequate infrastructure like science lab at GHSS Thangjam and GHSS Longkhim is yet to be achieved. There is a need for effective longer term and integrated infrastructure planning and construction in institution. These two government higher secondary schools are among the best performing government schools in the whole of the state with students coming from mainly Tuensang district and other nearby districts as well. Science education can never be complete without having a well-equipped lab facility. On the other hand, laboratory helps learning science rather easy as well as interesting. As of today, both the schools do not have proper science laboratories. This could very well be one reason why students from this part of the state are not naturally drawn to higher studies in the field of science.Science lab equipments allow the students to interact and learn directly form experiments. Laboratory teaching assumes as first-hand learning experience and use to develop skills necessary for advance study or research method. The purpose of the project is to initiate infrastructural development and establishment of science laboratory at GHSS Thangjam and GHSS Longkhim in the district, which will boost up the educational development and accessibilities for the students across town and district. This proposal will provide diagnostic and management in the field of science and improve education system.
