The village is situated at the remotest part of the State and is one of the most backward areas as compared to any other part of the State and therefore special attention for development of the area is a must for growth and progress of the people of the area. Thus, there is a requirement of special fund provision for the development of the area to meet the developmental gap through various infrastructure development projects. The present project will supplement to the development of the area and provide the much needed impetus of creating infrastructure also help in bringing to the people the concept of a modern society. There is an increasing focus on the growing disparity between the involvement of developed and developing societies in the new “information age.” ICT are often seen as being the critical link to bridge this gap. An ICT initiative that has been receiving increasing attention is that of the telecentre, and the related concept of the Multi-Purpose Community Centre (MPCC) or simply Multipurpose Community Building (MCB), particularly in rural areas. An MPCC is specific type physical space that provides public access to ICTs for educational, personal, social, and economic development to aid in the upliftment of disadvantaged group. The present proposal for Construction of Multipurpose Community Centre at Akuk Village is long felt need, however due to lack of any financial resources, the development of the Multipurpose Centre could not been taken up. The proposal if considered will cater to the needs of the villagers by improving the lifestyle in respect of education, entertainment, sports and also help develop the concept of modern society. The need to have a Multipurpose Community Centre at Akuk Village is also based on fact that the villagers are often faced with difficulties in organizing function, meetings or social gatherings, students programs, meetings during the visit of Government officials etc. due to lack of space. The proposed Multipurpose centre will also have recreation facilities that would include sports like table tennis and other indoor sports etc. Hence, a multipurpose Community Centre having a state of the art auditorium cum recreation facility with lodging etc. is propose for construction.
