The capital city of Kohima is the commercial hub for all agricultural farmers and florists for the whole state. Many producers bring their harvested products from all over the state to the capital for better market. However, owing to the absence of any major cold storage facility/ food processing unit, these perishable products are often damaged owing to huge monetary losses for the farmers and general loss in marketable products.
Objectives of the Project:
To help the local farmer/ producer in Kohima and adjoining areas by increasing the shelf life of agricultural products and flowers.
To alleviate the financial loss incurred as a result of lack of infrastructure to increase the shelf-life of perishable products.
Project Implementation Strategy:
The project will be implemented by the District Administration, Kohima in collaboration with local entrepreneurs/ enthusiasts.
