Proposed Activities
Kohima experience two extremes in water management. During the summer/monsoon season there is excessive water due to monsoon rainfall and in winter, there is a drought like situation barring some winter short rainfall spell. Shortage of water during non-rainy season creates a tremendous hardship to the college campus dwellers. In view of this it is proposed to have a robust rain harvesting system in the existing as well as in the proposed extended campus to facilitate the smooth flow of water in the campus to cater the need of students and faculty in their residence, hostels and in the academic departments. It is now mandatory for all institutions to have rain water harvesting for conservation as per the Jhal Shakti program.
