Project Details
Poor infrastructure is key obstacle to development in Kohima district with lack of proper infrastructure .The Shortage of public and community toilets in the District have resulted in many untold miseries for the public and the travellers especially along the National Highway. The project is proposed with a focus on solving the challenges and constraints in the district with key focus on Sanitation. The installation of bio-toilets is a major step meant to eradicate the practice of open defecation and ensuring clean environment. Eco-friendly and cost effective, these bio-toilets are a complete waste management solution, which alleviates the need for expensive sewage treatment and waste management while fulfilling the need for public toilets along the highway. The sanitation systems can be installed in places where conventional toilets facilities cannot be made available. The project will also provide better access to toilets and a safer environment for the women providing them with dignity and safety. Thus, installing bio-toilets at strategic locations in the villages and along the National Highway will Improve public facilities in this district and help the district to a large scale.
