The 1st Northeast Summit “Developing Northeast through the Power of Entrepreneurship” was organized by the IDAN in partnership with United Nations Global Compact Network India (UN-GCNI) and co-hosted by International Chamber for Service Industry (ICSI), at Niathu Resort, Dimapur.

The Summit featured a policy makers’ panel comprising of senior officials from Government of India and States. It provided an opportunity to understand policies that are in place while exploring the roadmap to promote sustainable development and entrepreneurship in the region.

The Summit featured over 50 eminent speakers from across the country along with participating delegations from all North Eastern States.

Outcome:

• Proposal to set up a waste to energy plant at Dimapur was receivedfrom Global Green International Investment Pte. Ltd., Singapore.
• Shaktishi, a CSR Consultant has also offered its service to the State Government for CSR related work with no financial implications.
• The Deputy Residence Representative, UNDP, graced the Summit with a special address and further strengthened relationship with the State Government. The EPW was also sponsored by UNDP as a goodwill gesture.
• Initiated conversation as well as engagement with SEWA and Aavishkaar respectively. SEWA (Self Employed Womens Association) is a trade union of poor, self-employed women workers and Aavishkaar is an organization with a vision to catalyse development in Indias undeserved regions.
