Finnish Fortum’s Bio2X programme investigates new business opportunities with fractioning-based technologies and end-products of the process. The NRL refinery project is a part of Fortum’s Bio2X research and development programme wherein the Fortum representative requested the IDAN to come up with a plan to help facilitate the supply of bamboo to the NRL refinery project. He highlighted that the project area is an approximate 30 acres with a 200-300 km radius within which Clusters which will chip and store the bamboo will be set up where bamboo suppliers can sell and get paid.
Outcome: Site visit to the Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company Limited (NPPC) Tuli by Fortum, Invest India, Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency (NBDA), State Industries and Commerce department and the IDAN. Feasibility of Project utilizing the Nagaland Pulp and Paper Company Limited (NPPC) Tuli in totality or the Chipping Unit only. Consider the revenue generation prospects of supplying Bamboo to the Biorefinery project, Numaligarh. Use available space as storage area.
