The Credit Outreach and Facilitation Unit (COFU), a flagship initiative under the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), has played a transformative role in reshaping Nagaland’s financial landscape. Sponsored by Boeing and implemented by the Learning Links Foundation (LLF), COFU has driven financial inclusion, economic independence, and sustainable development across the state. This report outlines the achievements of COFU from its inception to 2024 and provides a comprehensive roadmap for the continuation and expansion of its initiatives for 2025-2026. By focusing on entrepreneurship, education, skill development, and renewable energy projects, COFU aims to address unemployment and equip Nagaland’s youth with the tools needed for self-reliance and innovation.

Achievements of COFU (2022-2024)

  15. Quantum of Loans: ₹.200 Crores
  16. Heritage Interpretation Initiative: During the 25th Hornbill Festival, COFU supported the State’s Heritage Interpretation Program, training 236 individuals as Heritage Interpreters. Fifty were engaged for 10 days as cultural ambassadors at key sites like the World War II Cemetery, Kigwema, and Khonoma. The program generated ₹50,000 in guided service fees, promoting sustainable, community-based tourism in Nagaland.
  17. On January 19th, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the "New Boeing India Engineering & Technology Centre" (BIETIC) campus in Bengaluru, marking it as the largest Boeing campus outside the United States. The COFU team had the honour of participating in this grand inaugural event, with five members proudly representing IDAN.
  18. At the 2nd Rengma Entrepreneurs Meet in 2023, COFU was recognized with a Certificate for its dedicated efforts in conducting intensive Financial Literacy Camps and providing invaluable support to communities across the District.
  19. COFU successfully conducted an internship for 68 NESSIR students, training them to run Financial Literacy Camps in 30 villages across Peren District. The program gathered agricultural data and impacted over 6,000 beneficiaries.

20.   In 2024, COFU addressed ANCSU’s Annual Meet, highlighting financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and skill development for self-reliance.

 

21.   COFU, a special guest at the SASARD Medziphema workshop, shared insights on sustainable entrepreneurship, reinforcing its role in youth empowerment and economic growth.

 

22.   COFU led guest lectures at Nagaland University’s two-month Entrepreneurship Development Program, equipping students and young entrepreneurs with essential skills for sustainable ventures.
